La Relación Humana entre Amor y Distancia Geográfica

“One headlight” by The Wallflowers often accompanies my writing of these letters, a poignant reminder that love and distance are entwined in complex ways. A relationship from years ago sparked the romantic connection with this song—the partner loved it so much he played it on cassette tape for me while visiting our mother’s house.

“La rata”, despite its sentimental attachment, was a love that did not transcend distance or time. The departure to Singapore with his diary from the lone couple on my necklace and unreturned calls after just days apart illustrate this painful reality of long-distance relationships.

“Los amores a distancia”, as discussed recently, brings forward varied experiences. A man close to me argues that distance is an insurmountable obstacle for love and time spent together should be minimal regardless of the circumstances—a stark contrast with my own more hopeful perspective.
