This blog post discusses an event wherein numerous civil society actors including but not limited to human rights defenders and students converged towards the Angel of Independence from around 4pm on October 3rd for a peaceful march, aiming to demand Mario González’s release as well advocate against excessive state use in handling non-violent protesters. The participants carried banners reading «Freedom Now» and slogans like ‘End Criminalization of Protest’. A key rally was held at the Zocalo, with a closing ceremony marking its end around 8pm on October 4th.
